4 Sessions Regular Tufting Short Course ( 16 hours )

The Tufting Short Course offers a comprehensive learning experience for individuals interested in mastering the art of tufting rugs. Whether you're a beginner with no prior experience or an experienced tufter looking to enhance your skills, this course is designed to take you through the basics, intermediate techniques, and advanced methods of tufting. This hands-on course will equip you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to create beautiful, high-quality tufted rugs.

For beginners, you will need to start from Basic and develop your skills progressively towards Intermediate and Advanced level upon achieving different levels of tufting mastery.

What will you be working on each lesson:

For each course, we will start with creating an introductory piece with new techniques learn on a 65cm x 65cm frame size and move on with a large piece on a 95x95cm frame size. By the end of the course, you will bring home a total of 2 tuft pieces of your own designs.

 *Participants are required to prepare their designs before hand to have an idea on what they like to make. Guidance will be provided on design selection.

Basic

- In this course, we will be learning to create two-dimensional tufted piece, mastering basic cut pile tufting techniques, creating straight lines, curves, and angles. You will learn to complete the rugs with a proper backing and trimming method.

Intermediate

- In this course, we will be exploring various stitch patterns (cut pile & loop pile), incorporating texture and depth into your design. You will learn how to “carve-as-you-tuft” to sculpt and highlight areas of their designs.

Advance

- In this course, you will be experimenting with three-dimensional effects and colour blending & gradient on your piece. With combination of both loop pile, cut pile tufting and various pile height, you will be creating 2 bespoke masterpieces of your very own.
